Weekly Deliverable: In this assignment the student prepares a bullet point outline such as might be used in a speech or a debate. Word Count 100 (intro), 100 (conclusion), approximately 3 – 8 words per bullet point.

The Question For this week’s assignment, reflect upon the comments by Jeff Daniels’ character in the video as to why “America is not the greatest country in the world” anymore. You will notice that the character actually makes two arguments:- One is, “we are not the greatest country in the world anymore”- The second is, “but we used to be” and still could be.

For this assignment students will make a persuasive argument that objectively examines the position taken by Daniels character by answering the question, Is America the greatest country in the world or not? To be successful, you want to objectively define what it means to be “great.”Use a parameter that can be proven. Examine the assigned reading articles or optional research articles.

The Format: Your outline should be based upon the following format:

1. Opening paragraph including a clear Thesis Statement (100 words). a. Answer the question,Yes, America is the greatest…let me clarify my position, orNo, America is not the greatest…let me clarify my position
