Bengali Harlem and the Lost Histories of South Asian America Reflection Paper

Each student will complete a paper on a debate topic listed below. Students will need to research the topic and write a research paper on the topic discussing both sides of the topic (pros and cons) as well as including the students own opinion in the final page. Paper must be a minimum of four (4) pages in length. APA style. The title page and abstract are not required. Students must have a minimum of four (4) references.

Should individuals be allowed to download songs off the web using programs such as BitTorrent or other file sharing programs?

Does excessive violence on TV and in video games negatively effect the behavior of children?

Should professional sport organizations (MLB, NBA, NFL etc.) abolish or revise their drug policy?

Should the “Let Burn Policy” be the standard for National Forest fires?

Should youth 11 years old and younger be exposed to competition i.e. scoring?

Should the So-Called Recreational Drug, marijuana be legalized in the U.S.?

Should smoking be banned in bars and eating establishments?

Are the “good foul” and/or “intentional walk” appropriate or ethical approaches to winning in sports?

Should federal/public funding be distributed to the National Endowment for the Arts?

Should municipal parks and recreation funding (Taxes) be the first governmental cut when budgets are not balanced?

Should Title IX be revised or abolished?

Does the use of electronics i.e. texting, social media, etc. negatively affect basic social interactions of individuals?
