Colorado Christian University Understanding of Personality Theory Paper

Your Final Paper will be a cumulative assessment of your understanding of personality theory which reflects your comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of essential concepts. Your paper has two parts:

PART I

Choose a public or historic figure whom you find interesting, perhaps a politician, musician, author, or a scientist (to name a few options!) Research the person you have selected in order to get an informed perspective of their personality. Then, in your paper, analyze this person based on at least three of the theoretical perspectives covered in the class. Provide examples from his/her life to support your analysis and use resources regarding these theoretical perspectives to support your claims.

PART II

After completing your initial analysis, spend some time on the second part of your paper completing the following:

  • Compare your own personality to that of the public or historic figure you selected.
  • Evaluate what it is about your own personality that draws you to this individual that you selected.
  • Explore how the three (or more) personality theories you selected for this final assignment are present in your own life.
  • How are these conclusions influenced by your own worldview?

Your Final Paper needs to be 4-6 pages (not including your cover and reference page) and must be formatted according to APA guidelines. Reference a minimum of 5 academic sources (not including your textbook) to support your points and perspectives.
