   Create a content area writing activity for elementary students. Include the following in your writing activity:

   • A grade level, content area, and topic or theme on which to focus the writing activity
   • Either a writing-to-learn (WTL) focus or writing in disciplines (WID) focus for the activity
   • At least one piece of children’s literature integrated into the activity (this can be used as part of the activity itself or as an instructional piece used prior to the students’ completion of the activity)

   Compose a 175-word overview in which you describe how you would administer the activity, how you would assess students’ writing, and how you would document and manage student writing development in the content areas following the activity.
