PLEASE RESPOND TO CLASSMATE DISCUSSION WHETHER YOU AGREE OR NOT & A DETAILED WHY: From the e-Activity, compare the key components inherent in the national health insurance financing systems of two (2) different countries. Determine the impact that financing health insurance has on the economy of each country that you selected. Provide examples to support your rationale. – Japan’s health care system is characterized by universal coverage, free choice of health care providers by patients, a multi-player, employment-based system of financing, and a predominant role for private hospitals and fee-for-service practice. Canada’s health care system is a group of socialized health insurance plans that provides coverage to all Canadian citizens. It is publicly funded and administered on a provincial or territorial basis, within guidelines set by the federal government.

Examine the importance of health insurance with respect to the cost of the uninsured on the healthcare system. Interpret the function of the Affordable Care Act in providing insurance coverage to the uninsured. Provide two (2) examples to support your rationale– In my opinion the affordable care act forces the uninsured to take control of their health and the importance of early prevention. To many uninsured people would go to the emergency rooms when illness got to a point they can’t function and at that point they need tests and medication that are more expensive and weren’t able to afford due to not having insurance. This makes a big financial hole in the healthcare.

  • Specify at least two (2) examples of quality initiatives that could potentially reduce healthcare cost. Illustrate, with real-world examples, the capacity to which healthcare cost affects healthcare quality in the United States.
  • Determine the importance of generic drug availability in relationship to healthcare quality and cost. Provide at least two (2) examples to illustrate the degree to which generic drug availability is significant to the uninsured.

PLEASE RESPOND TO CLASSMATE DISCUSSION WHETHER YOU AGREE OR NOT & A DETAILED WHY: Specify at least two (2) examples of quality initiatives that could potentially reduce healthcare cost. Illustrate, with real-world examples, the capacity to which healthcare cost affects healthcare quality in the United States. – In my opinion the implementation of electronic medical records initiative will help reduce healthcare cost. Providers can avoid duplicate testing and be able to see what was done by other providers. Also helps with the monitoring of medications and treatments patients receive.

A common contract between all health plans and providers. This initiative will, in the long run, save administrative costs for both health plans and providers. Health plans will likely only need a handful of people in this area to act as liaisons with the new contracting entity. Today, physician offices spend an inordinate amount of time on administrative negotiations with health plans on fee payment levels. Under this initiative, providers will deal with one contractor and their fees will be the same for all health plans.

Determine the importance of generic drug availability in relationship to healthcare quality and cost. Provide at least two (2) examples to illustrate the degree to which generic drug availability is significant to the uninsured.

Generic drug availability for uninsured patients is important for them to be able to afford and treat their health issue. If patients are not able to treat their health condition it would generate a higher cost at the end. By patients been able to afford their medication patients they can also prevent other health issues. Generic drugs are for the must part more affordable to patients.
