vulnerable population). I will be interviewing (name the professional and the client you

plan to interview. If you do not know yet, at least try to name the agency you plan to

visit. Often the professional you interview can point out a client who would allow you to

complete the client interview.

Questions for a professional:

You need to come up with a list of 12 questions for the professional. Please number

the list. It is good to start with questions about the professional’s background. Then,

learn what you can about the agency. Ask questions about the population the

agency serves. In addition, you can ask about barriers this population faces when

seeking healthcare services, challenges when working this population, and success

stories. It is always good to end the list of questions asking the professional if there

is anything else they would like to share.

Questions for the patient/client:

You need to come up with a list of 12 questions to ask the member of the vulnerable

population. Please number the list. It is good to start with an open-ended question

asking the individual to tell you about him or herself. Many of the remaining

questions will depend on the situation of the individual you are interviewing. You

might ask about family/support system, living arrangements, what lead to him/her

being in this situation, challenges, strengths, interests, goals and what might be

needed to reach these goals, and healthcare resources or difficulty getting

healthcare needs met. It is always good to end by asking if there is anything else

they would like to share.
