At various times of the nation’s history the office of the Presidency has increased in authority. One could argue the conditions a President faces allow for their leadership to emerge. As you read and think about the individuals who have served in the executive branch and the challenges faced (Nation’s founding, Civil War, WWII, and Attacks on 9/11).
