Your Art Paper will be at least 5 full pages, follow MLA formatting (double-spaced, Times New Roman 12pt font, one-inch margins) and include all of the following:

  • An overview of the important styles, artists and subjects associated with your topic. If you are unable to provide those, or they are not clear in your research, explain.
  • Locate current art in your topic. That means 21st century.
  • You may give a short historical background for your subjects, but for the most part do not go back any farther in time than 1300 AD.

  • Be specific about the examples you reference. Describe them using appropriate terminology and explain how they are examples for the points you are making.
  • You may use Wikimedia to locate images.

Tips and Suggestions:

  • Start with the textbook to find out what has been written about the subject.
  • Next, do some research in at least 3 other sources. Wikipedia is not allowed as an informational source, but you may go there first to locate some other sources. Then you must go to those sources.
  • Be careful of Blogs. They are based on the bloggers’ opinions.
