Assignment Purpose: To select and review references as potential sources for a final paper, pertaining to a speech-language intervention of your choice
Procedures:
- Locate references regarding evidence-based practice related to speech-language intervention for children.Organize the references into a bibliography list.Bibliographies should be double-spaced and formatted using all APA rules.Each bibliography needs to AT LEAST include a minimum of 6 peer reviewed journal articles on the topic. You may include more than 6 references if you wish
- Create a reference list formatting all references per APA guidelines.
- Under each reference, you should include:
- a one paragraph summary of the article (think movie summary version) that summarizes the critical information in your own words.
- a second paragraph that evaluates the source. What are your impressions? How might the source contribute to your final paper? Are there noteworthy limitations and/or clinical implications? Please be succinct in your wording and be sure to paraphrase.
Remember you will be graded on both your writing and your use of proper APA formatting. Duplicate errors across references will be counted.For example if you use the word “and” when an “&” is needed across 8 reference items, it will result in a deduction each time. Commas, periods, italics, numbers, writing style, and all of the other nitty-gritty aspects of APA formatting will count towards your total points.
Proof carefully and use your APA Manual.In the past, students have either done well or done poorly because of repeated errors across multiple reference items. Double, then triple check your work against examples in the manual.
Avoid using passive voice. always active.
Avoid giving power to object like the study proof or indicate its actually not the study by itself it is the researcher who have done the article.
