This is Water (DISCUSSION)
For this week’s discussion board, watch “This is Water” (Links to an external site.) by David Foster Wallace and answer the following questions in 2-3 paragraphs:
- Given what you have learned so far this week, how do you think critical thinking applies to Wallace’s overall message? How can critical thinking improve living a life in which you are more aware of yourself and your surroundings? Explain how narrow-mindedness impedes critical thinking.
- Like the fish taking for granted that it lives in water, what sorts of things do you think that you might not take the time to appreciate or notice in your own life? What are some of the barriers you face that keep you from analyzing your experiences and worldviews, as well as the experiences and worldviews of others?
Then, take the time to comment on another classmate’s response.
