Did Mendel “consistently observe” the 9:3:3:1 ratio? If not, what was he seeing? If so, why does this series of numbers not appear in his famous paper?
In Darwin’s Descent of Man, he makes an argument about the evolution of sympathy and the effects of natural selection in ‘civilized’ societies. What is his argument, and what does he ultimately recommend?
